This programme is for returning students intending to complete the third year of the degree and is being replaced with the Bachelor of Creativity (Performing Arts) in 2018

Programme Outline

The Bachelor of Applied Arts (Performing Arts) is a three year programme that provides a strong base in Māori, Samoa, Cook Islands and New Zealand contemporary dance performance. Students are encouraged to develop their own strengths in technique, performance and choreography.

Modules include:

  • Professional Studies
  • Creative Enterprise
  • Contextual Studies

In the third year, students research and create a major body of work that is presented publicly. Performance and touring are significant parts of the Performing Arts programme. Students must successfully pass all modules to graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Arts (Performing Arts). Students who pass two years of the degree may exit with a Diploma in Performing Arts.
